About the position

We are seeking a talented mobile engineer (Android) to join our team at Walmart Global Tech, focusing on building innovative products in the Health and Wellness space. This role involves collaborating with various teams to enhance customer experiences through technological advancements, ensuring high-quality implementations, and contributing to the overall success of our mobile applications.

Responsibilities

• Implementation of features from specifications
• Contribution to quality assurance of implemented features
• Shipping features and monitoring in production
• Interaction with product and design teams
• Collaboration with other mobile teams (including iOS) for feature consistency
• Interaction with backend teams for API definition

Requirements

• Extensive understanding of Android framework components and their lifecycles
• Solid knowledge of multithreading, networking, and offline storage
• Expert level knowledge of Java, Android SDK, and Gradle
• Experience with Kotlin, as the codebase is migrating to 100% Kotlin
• Experience in developing content-rich applications with Material Design
• Good app architecture knowledge using design patterns such as MVVM and MVP
• Ability to build products with a focus on testability, well-versed with Mockito and JUnit
• Disciplined approach to development, code review, testing, and documentation

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related area
• Experience in creating inclusive digital experiences and knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA standards
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices
