About the position

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information. This role focuses on building features for the YouTube app across various mobile platforms, ensuring a modern and unified experience. Engineers will collaborate with design and product teams, promote maintainable code, and deliver high-quality work while having opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves.

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with design, product, and engineering to build features on Android and iOS that introduce new frameworks and reusable components.
  • Work on making the YouTube app experience modern and unified across all mobile screen types, from phone to tablet and beyond.
  • Promote maintainable code, clear documentation, and deliver high-quality work.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners.
  • Work with partner teams to build alignment around the evolving UI frameworks, processes, and tools, and ensure that they meet product developer needs.
  • Deliver adoption of cross-platform frameworks, tooling, and reusable components across product teams at YouTube.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
  • 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience with iOS application development.
  • Experience in programming with Objective-C or Swift.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
