Rosetta Stone, a leader in language learning, is seeking Senior Software Engineers to join our team in San Mateo, CA. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects that enhance our successful language learning products. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a talented group of engineers to develop new features and improve existing functionalities. Your role will involve building the back-end wiring, application logic, and user interface for our products, ensuring a seamless and immersive learning experience for our users. In this position, you will be responsible for starting projects from scratch as well as working within the existing code base. You will provide accurate estimates for project timelines, evaluate the feasibility of new platforms and technologies, and assess their potential for implementation. Clear communication and collaboration across multiple development teams will be essential as you work to design and release exceptional products. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor your teammates, sharing your knowledge and experiences to foster a culture of learning and growth within the team.
Responsibilities
- Work with a team of talented engineers, starting projects from scratch and working within the existing code base.
- Build the back-end wiring, application logic, and UI for our products.
- Provide accurate estimates, evaluate feasibility, and assess new platforms and technologies for project implementations.
- Collaborate and communicate clearly across multiple development teams to design and release amazing products.
- Mentor teammates, communicate, and teach your learnings.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Excellent programming skills (e.g. Ruby/Go or Java).
- Strong communication, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Modern best practices in Javascript, HTML, and CSS.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of AWS, MySQL, MongoDB, GraphQL/Node, React is a plus.
- Passion for improving language learning through technology.
