About the position

The Senior Software Engineer (Rust) position at a well-funded startup involves collaborating with engineers, product managers, and designers to develop core services, APIs, and SDKs for a scalable, event-driven shared ledger platform. The role focuses on designing and optimizing systems built on a microservices architecture, ensuring the development of secure and high-performance software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, high-performance backend systems, APIs, and SDKs.
• Build and optimize integrations using messaging protocols across multiple languages.
• Identify opportunities to enhance system performance and scalability.
• Conduct performance monitoring and benchmark testing for system optimization.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines and improve engineering efficiency.
• Follow secure software development practices aligned with industry standards.
• Contribute to the security and reliability of mission-critical systems.
• Deliver reliable, highly available, mission critical & geo-resilient systems, with strong recovery mechanisms and deep observability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 3 or more years of professional experience working with Rust.
• Experience and background in crypto, Web3, or traditional & emerging payments systems and integration.
• Experience with microservices architectures, distributed systems, and building scalable, mission-critical platforms.
• Familiarity with gRPC, messaging protocols like MQ or Kafka, and modern DevOps tools (Git, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Strong understanding of backend architectures, including container orchestration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Crypto infrastructure is a big plus.
• Experience building modern shared ledger, programmable systems is a plus.
• Competency in other programming languages such as TypeScript or low-level performant languages like C++ is a plus.
