About the position

Cribl is seeking a back-end focused Senior Engineer to join a remote-first, diverse, and inclusive team dedicated to enhancing Cribl Search's Performance and Executor Infrastructure. This role involves architecting a novel distributed and federated search system for in-place data, enabling customers to analyze and visualize operational data efficiently. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of software developers to enhance Cribl Search's performance and infrastructure.
• Architect a distributed and federated search system for in-place data.
• Optimize performance of web applications through profiling, network, code, and environment optimization.
• Work with structured and unstructured data to build search, query, and analytic systems.
• Engage in agile processes and rapid iterative development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred) or equivalent industry experience.
• Expertise in performance tuning of web applications with a strong understanding of profiling and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with AWS, Lambda, and cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to problem solve from first principles while maintaining focus on overarching objectives.
• Experience in developing distributed systems at scale.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical topics to diverse audiences.

• Experience with Typescript/JavaScript and NodeJS.
