About the position
The software engineer position within the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Regional team at Lockheed Martin focuses on the design, development, and testing of Java applications for the U.S. Missile Defense System. This role is integral to a fast-paced, agile environment where engineers collaborate to enhance missile defense technologies, ensuring the safety of the United States and its allies.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop new Java applications
- Maintain existing Java applications
- Support software testing and resolution of issues from multiple baselines
- Generate software design artifacts and support design and code reviews
Requirements
- Must currently hold an ACTIVE DoD Final Secret Security Clearance
- Experience in full life cycle software development of Java-based applications in a UNIX/Linux platform environment
- Experience developing software in a structured, process-based integrated team environment
- Experience utilizing configuration management tools in the development of software (e.g. Git/Gitlab/etc.)
- Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as System requirements, Use Cases, and SysML diagrams
- Security+ or equivalent certification required within 60 days of starting
Nice-to-haves
- Experience resolving cyber/security issues identified by Fortify/SonarQube/etc.
- Experience using Eclipse to develop software applications
- Experience using Maven or Gradle
- Experience using automated unit testing frameworks
- Experience with performance modeling
- Experience developing microservices
