About the position

The Senior Software Engineer, Simulation & Test at Cruise is responsible for developing and integrating automated simulation test pipelines to enhance the testing and evaluation of autonomous vehicle software. This role focuses on creating tools and frameworks that facilitate efficient simulation management, enabling rapid iteration and performance evaluation of machine learning models. The position requires collaboration with various teams to deliver impactful software solutions that ensure the safety and efficiency of self-driving vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Build automated tools and pipelines for simulation test creation, maintenance, and execution to accelerate training of ML models and end-to-end performance evaluation.
• Develop and integrate test productivity and debugging scripts to enable efficient customer workflows.
• Design and implement engineering solutions to tackle complex simulation testing problems, focused towards performance and scale.
• Collaborate across teams, with AV Engineers, Product Managers, Systems Engineers, Simulation and Product Operations to improve the development speed of Cruise engineers.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years relevant industry experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Technical leadership in a complex space, driving technical design and execution cross-collaboratively across multiple teams and organizations.
• Proven track record of effective collaboration with customers and continuous delivery of quality results.

• Experience with verification and validation of complex and/or safety critical systems within robotics, autonomous driving or related field.
