About the position

The Senior Software Engineer position within the Supply Chain & Logistics Warehousing Team at ByteDance focuses on designing and implementing advanced Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to enhance logistics efficiency and scalability. The role involves leading engineering efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior engineers, all while driving innovation in warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the design and implementation of next-generation Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Lead the engineering team in architecting innovative solutions for warehouse operations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address inefficiencies within the logistics chain.
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field with two years of related work experience; or a Bachelor's degree with five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience.
  • One year of experience in designing and constructing systems for high throughput, low latency, and fault tolerance.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Experience managing databases for online real-time record storage and analysis using tools like Flink, Kafka, and Kibana.
  • Experience crafting and executing unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests in unstable network environments.
  • Experience designing and implementing real-time alerting and monitoring tools for production systems.
  • Experience conducting functional negotiation, end-to-end workflow debugging, and troubleshooting in a production environment.
