About the position

The Senior Software Engineer for the Xcelerator Data Hub at Siemens Digital Industries Software is responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and implementing software programming for both internal and external products. The role focuses on exceeding customer expectations, ensuring high quality, and timely delivery. The engineer will act as a technical lead on major projects, consult with customers regarding future upgrades, and influence the technical direction of product areas. This position requires a deep understanding of complex products and solutions, as well as the ability to innovate and introduce new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the focal Data Hub technical contact for specific DISW Business Segments to enable their integration products for Cloud & Hybrid operation.
  • Collaborate with Business Segment teams to evaluate existing integrations and recommend technical approaches for Cloud transition.
  • Support Business Segments in developing their technical transition plans.
  • Scope, plan, and execute proofs-of-concept as required.
  • Work with cross-functional teams of architects and product experts.
  • Collaborate with the Data Hub infrastructure team for the creation and configuration of cloud environments.
  • Track progress and maintain a scorecard for transition and cloud readiness of assigned integrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other STEM discipline.
  • 10+ years of real-world programming and architecture experience.
  • Strong architectural background and hands-on experience in defining or implementing complex software architectures (5+ years).
  • Understanding of core AWS/Azure services and architecture best practices (4+ years).
  • Proficiency in developing and deploying cloud-based solutions leveraging at least one hyper-scaler (AWS, Azure, etc.), Containerization, and DevOps (4+ years).
  • Active experience in Cloud security models and implementation.
  • Experience in providing active Technical Leadership and guidance (4+ years).
  • Ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of varying technical abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience in implementing Siemens Digital Industries products (Teamcenter, Opcenter, Simcenter, etc.).
  • Experience in PLM, ALM, MBSE, EDA, MOM software.
  • Understanding of integration landscapes, data, and process governance.
  • Deep industrial knowledge and experience in sectors like Enterprise/IT, PLM, OT.
