About the position

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Retirement Plan Services Technology group at Schwab, you will play a pivotal role in leading your development team to deliver high-quality software solutions that support retirement plan administration. This position emphasizes collaboration, technical leadership, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that applications meet business objectives while maintaining a focus on client advocacy and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and development of software applications that support retirement plan administration
• Participate on an agile team of developers, testers, product owners, and scrum masters
• Engage with team members to define system requirements
• Design and build automated tests
• Release applications to production environments on a regular basis
• Provide production application support for applications that require 99% uptime

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 10+ years of .NET design and development experience
• Demonstrated expertise in object-oriented design, Microsoft SQL Server, SOAP and REST web services, CI/CD
• Strong knowledge of software design, development, testing, maintenance, and support
• Strong leadership and motivational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Nice-to-haves

• Working in an Agile environment (Scrum/Kanban)
• Test Driven Development and automated test design
• Experience with Atlassian suite of products (Confluence, JIRA, Bamboo) and GitHub
• Knowledge of Angular JS, Spring Cloud, and microservices development
• Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry and Public Cloud (GCP) architecture
• Financial Services industry experience
