About The Position
As a Senior Software Engineer at Marriott International, you will play a pivotal role in leading the architecture, design, and development of innovative services and frameworks that support Marriott's Technology Innovation Platform. This position is responsible for defining and creating scalable and secure system solutions, as well as cloud-native applications utilizing microservices, RESTful APIs, and SaaS/PaaS platforms. Your work will directly impact Marriott.com, API, and various other business operations, ensuring that we deliver real-world capabilities that enhance our services. In this role, you will collaborate extensively with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, and DevSecOps teams to ensure the development of the right architecture components. You will work across multiple products and engineering teams to deliver incremental value against a multi-year modernization roadmap. Your responsibilities will include performing research and leading engineering teams during the analysis, design, creation, and implementation of applications to meet current and future user requirements. You will also help develop proof-of-concept implementations to evaluate cutting-edge technology that aligns with Marriott's business and technology objectives. Working in an agile development environment, you will lead multiple vendor teams in an onshore-offshore model. You will perform complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for service delivery processes and projects, providing consultation for both routine and complex systems development. It will be your responsibility to ensure early warnings are communicated to business stakeholder executives regarding any degraded or missed service levels. Additionally, you will coordinate with Operations and Infrastructure teams for deployment and production support activities, while adhering to all defined IT standards and processes. Mentorship and guidance to junior team members will also be a key aspect of your role, along with providing financial input on department or project budgets and validating that service providers manage their respective project plans effectively.
