About the position

The Senior Software Engineer at Genisys Credit Union plays a crucial role in the Software Development team, focusing on enhancing business processes through efficient software solutions. This hybrid position involves architectural decision-making, active participation in software development projects, and mentoring junior developers. The engineer will work closely with the system operations team to implement solutions that improve the financial lives of members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Participate in architectural decisions related to integration points for software solutions.
• Contribute to software development projects by taking on tasks from the team's backlog.
• Mentor junior developers and support their growth within the team.
• Collaborate with the system operations team to implement software solutions effectively.
• Engage in discussions about how software solutions can fulfill business requirements.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in software development.
• Deep competency in SQL for data manipulation in relational databases.
• Proficiency in the Go programming language.
• Experience in front-end development, including knowledge of the DOM and JavaScript frameworks like Ext JS.
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment and using shell commands such as Bash.
• Experience with Git for version control, including branching and commits.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with vendor integrations and customizations to core processing systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to break down complex problems into manageable tasks.
