About the position

ADP is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their hybrid team in Pasadena, CA. This role involves working within a scrum team on the OneTax program to develop and implement solutions for both internal and external clients. The engineer will collaborate with various stakeholders to design, develop, test, and deploy impactful software solutions, contributing to a platform that supports companies of varying sizes. The position emphasizes a balance of front-end and back-end development, mentoring junior developers, and participating in agile ceremonies.

Responsibilities

• Work within a scrum team to prioritize and track work.
• Develop and test code for the NextGen platform.
• Participate in release activities every three weeks.
• Guide projects to success through hands-on development and debugging.
• Mentor junior developers and assist in their growth.
• Review team work and ensure high-quality deliverables in an Agile environment.
• Collaborate with IT teams for seamless integration with existing systems.
• Present work to stakeholders during sprint demos.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in application development using Java, J2EE, and AWS technologies.
• Experience in designing, developing, and implementing front-end and back-end applications.
• Proficiency in developing APIs following WebServices and JSON patterns.
• Experience with unit tests and functional tests.
• Familiarity with test automation technologies like Selenium, Cucumber, and Playwright.
• Proficiency in RDBMS such as DB2 or Oracle and NoSQL databases like Mongo or DynamoDB.
• Excellent debugging skills and knowledge of messaging frameworks like Kafka.
• Experience in batch processing and facilitating code reviews.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with GenAI concepts.
• Full Stack Java development experience.
• Experience with test automation frameworks.
