About the position

The Senior Software Engineer role focuses on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines in cloud environments, specifically within the context of advanced trade surveillance technology. This position is essential for supporting the growth of the data team, contributing to microservices, and optimizing data storage and delivery, all while aligning with the company's broader goals.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain microservices for the data team, primarily Java services on Kubernetes (K8s).
• Address data duplication, velocity, schema adherence, high availability, and governance.
• Build and optimize end-to-end ETL workflows for data ingestion and transformation from multiple sources.
• Enrich financial data through third-party integrations.
• Maintain our Java-based data pipeline within a microservices architecture on Kubernetes.
• Coordinate integrations with other teams for data usage and insights generation.
• Continuously improve data storage and delivery, optimizing queries and data formats for diverse client consumption.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Computer Science from a top institution, or equivalent experience.
• At least 2+ years of experience as a software engineer with a strong Java background.
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering and high-volume production data pipeline development.
• 2+ years of experience with monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Datadog).
• Strong foundational skills in software engineering with Object-Oriented Development.
• Experience with data-engineering cloud tools, including Apache Airflow, Kubernetes, Clickhouse, Snowflake, Redis, and Kafka.
• Skilled in relational and non-relational databases, SQL, and query optimization.
• Proven experience in designing infrastructure with high-availability SLAs.
• Background in monitoring and managing production environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
