About the position

The Senior Software Engineering Manager at Caterpillar Inc. is responsible for overseeing the Adobe Product Delivery engineering platforms within the Digital Marketing Enablement division. This role involves leading a team of software engineers, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring the successful implementation and development of new features on various Adobe platforms. The manager will collaborate with business stakeholders to align on critical initiatives and maximize the delivery of software products that provide business value.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and direction to teams and team leaders.
• Manage the budget within plan.
• Oversee performance of individual team members and the team as a whole.
• Identify and address staff training and development needs.
• Coordinate walkthroughs and reviews; ensure conformance to standards and adherence to design specifications.
• Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance and schedule issues.

Requirements

• 3-5 years leadership experience with a strong background in software engineering and technical leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field OR equivalent working experience.
• Experience with Adobe Products and Delivery.
• Experience managing a team both onshore and offshore.
• Experience with Digital Marketing and Content Management platforms.
• Strong background and awareness in Accessibility and CyberSecurity.
• Experience with Cloud Platforms (AWS/Azure) and Java-based solutions.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Strong business judgment, including analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills.
• Demonstrate a high level of initiative and accountability.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale, high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of agile development methodologies.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and consensus-building skills.
