About the position

Bear Robotics is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead the Cloud and Data teams, focusing on the development and scalability of cloud infrastructure, on-premise systems, and data pipelines. This role is crucial for overseeing the design and implementation of reliable, secure, and scalable systems that support the company's growing operations, while also managing cloud billing and permissions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Cloud Billing and Permissions by overseeing cloud usage and optimizing billing strategies.
  • Develop Cloud Infrastructure Standards to build and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure and services.
  • Design and deploy on-premise server systems that replicate cloud functionality for customers with internal network needs.
  • Lead the design and implementation of efficient data pipelines and infrastructure for data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage and mentor teams responsible for cloud/on-prem infrastructure and data, aligning goals with company strategy.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure infrastructure solutions meet software, hardware, and data application needs.
  • Ensure Infrastructure Security and Compliance by maintaining security best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure and cloud billing, particularly with the GCP platform.
  • Experience designing and managing on-premise infrastructure and data systems that align with cloud services.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining scalable service infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of data infrastructure, including data pipeline creation, optimization, and maintenance.
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, providing technical guidance and career support.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
  • Experience with data visualization and analytics platforms like Looker, Superset, or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, Go, or Java.
  • Experience managing infrastructure security and compliance in both cloud and on-prem environments.
