About the position

The Senior Software Engineering Manager for the UI Frameworks Team at Apple will lead a diverse team focused on enhancing user interactions with the Vision Pro spatial computer. This role emphasizes mentorship, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and the delivery of high-quality software projects that prioritize user experience. The manager will foster an inclusive team culture and drive the development of core components for the visionOS user interface.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a diverse team of software engineers and managers working on core components and infrastructure for the User Interface of visionOS.
• Collaborate closely with design and human interface teams to create cohesive and intuitive UI interactions.
• Drive the API story for foundational aspects of the SwiftUI framework as it pertains to visionOS.
• Create an inclusive team culture where every voice is heard and diverse ideas thrive.
• Manage the delivery of complex software projects on time, focusing on code quality, performance, accessibility, and scalability.
• Act as a key technical leader and decision-maker, guiding the team through technical challenges and ensuring decisions reflect a broader Apple-wide perspective.
• Mentor and grow a diverse team of engineers and engineering managers, fostering career growth and encouraging continuous learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in software development, with experience managing managers and leading engineering teams, ideally with a focus on framework design and user-interaction paradigms.
• Proven track record as a user experience-obsessed product owner, with a passion for delivering intuitive user experiences.
• Proven success collaborating with cross-functional partners, especially design teams, to ensure alignment of product development with technical feasibility and design excellence.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to guide teams through complex technical challenges.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working on AR/VR platforms.
• Experience with other UI frameworks (React, Flutter, Xamarin, etc).
• Familiarity with 3D modeling and development environments.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
