About the position

The Senior Software Integration and Test Engineer will support NOAA's Space Weather Follow On L1 (SWFO-L1) Program, which involves a satellite mission aimed at collecting data about solar activity. This role requires leading a team in system-level software integration and testing for Satellite Ground Station Command and Control applications, ensuring compatibility with program objectives. The position allows for a hybrid work schedule, combining on-site and remote support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team performing system level software integration and test (I&T) activities for Satellite Ground Station Command and Control (C2) applications.
  • Test and integrate the C2 OS/COMET based systems from validation and verification to installation and commissioning.
  • Generate test procedures for the validation and verification of software components to analyze requirements for integration and/or testability issues.
  • Support test readiness reviews, formal system verification of the system requirements, and final test reports.
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in documentation, testing, and efficient use of resources.
  • Utilize basic administration and configuration of RedHat Enterprise Linux to resolve configuration issues and integrate Red Hat Linux systems with other existing environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8+ years experience with a BS/BA degree; 6 years experience with MS/MA; or a minimum of 3 years with a PhD.
  • Experience with software development methodologies and life cycles, specifications, and testing.
  • Experience with implementing automated test tools.
  • Experience in testing-to-requirements and understanding how to build tests against system level requirements.
  • Experience in product deployment and testing for releases.
  • Experience with RedHat Linux and ability to complete and pass a federal government Public Trust background investigation.

  • Experience in developing test scripts.
  • Experience in Satellite Ground Station - Command and Control applications and software integration and troubleshooting of complex, multi-application systems.
  • Experience with Satellite Mission Planning Software.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $80,000 - $128,000 based on experience and other factors.
