About the position

The Senior Software Integration Engineer at Synergy ECP is responsible for developing software tools and services in a PaaS Linux environment, supporting an on-premises cloud offering. This role requires expertise in containerization technologies and a strong understanding of DevOps practices to enhance software efficiency in production. The engineer will integrate, install, configure, and support COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment, contributing to the overall security and performance of the systems used by U.S. intelligence and defense communities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software tools and services in a PaaS Linux environment.
  • Integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software.
  • Generate documentation for the full software stack.
  • Update software for sustainment support.
  • Execute test codes for characterization of software performance.
  • Provide software product ownership for HPC tools.
  • Work with CM tools, web documentation, and issue tracking.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with at least eight years of experience, or five years of directly related work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with Linux CLI and shell scripting.
  • Experience writing scripts using Bash/Python.
  • General technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage system components.
  • Experience with IaC principles and automation tools such as SaltStack, Puppet, and Ansible.
  • In-depth experience troubleshooting large Linux clusters.
  • Demonstrated experience using system monitoring tools such as Prometheus/Grafana.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Demonstrated experience administrating/monitoring Kubernetes clusters.
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience using Git for version control.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using Helm to deploy Kubernetes applications.
  • Experience using GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and applications.
