About the position

The Senior Software Test Architect Engineer at AMD will design, architect, and develop test plans for pre-silicon integrated firmware solutions for components in the AMD Server SOC and GPU. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure the highest quality of firmware through comprehensive test planning and execution.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop test plans for pre-silicon integrated firmware solutions.
• Review firmware requirements from product specifications.
• Collaborate with feature validation teams and system engineers to develop system-level test plans.
• Work with simulation teams to create requirements for simulation support.
• Create a list of test cases to validate firmware features.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to test case development engineers and program managers.
• Drive pre-silicon test plan design reviews and firmware quality improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in BIOS/Firmware Test Plan Development.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience with computer architecture and power management methodologies.
• Experience in embedded firmware and/or device driver development.
• Experience with board, processor, or ASIC bring-up.
• Familiarity with source control systems such as git.
• Experience in hardware/software interfaces and working with RTOS and other embedded OS environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working on server platforms and/or GPUs.
• Knowledge of DDR, CXL, SPI, eSPI, I2C, LPC, or PCIe technologies.
• Understanding of microprocessor architecture including memory management units and interrupt delivery.
• Experience with Secure Boot, TPM, AES, DES, RSA, AMD Secure Memory Encryption, and AMD Secure Encrypted Virtualization.
• Well-versed in software engineering practices.
