About the position
The Senior Software Test Engineer at Offset Strategic Services, LLC will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing the software test strategy for 1-3 Scrum teams. This role involves direct interaction with project stakeholders and requires expertise in software testing methodologies, particularly in Agile environments. The engineer will also support the Department Test Lead in refining and implementing a global test strategy, ensuring thorough testing of software releases.
Responsibilities
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise to supported scrum teams regarding the preparation and execution of software testing strategy.
- Drive the development of software infrastructure for automated test solutions including unit testing, module/component integration testing, and full system integration testing.
- Provide T&E technical and engineering support by documenting the test concept development, test methodology development, test plan development, test execution, and test reporting.
- Independently prepare criteria, computation/analyses, specifications, and technical reports in the specific area of technical expertise.
- Select and apply engineering techniques and procedures to analyze and evaluate specific problems, data, or other features of the work.
- Review and evaluate the quantity, quality, and overall adequacy of results and conclusions drawn from accomplishment of test engineering tasks.
- Devise new and innovative approaches to problems encountered, and accomplish assigned tasks with efficiency, timeliness, and thoroughness.
- Evaluate the configuration, capability, and operational relevance of test environments and ensure they are properly available for thorough testing of software releases.
- Support data collection and user engagement events.
- Support the Department Test Lead in refining and implementing global test strategy.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements.
- Ability to obtain Secret security clearance.
- Experience and aptitude in software development and associated methodologies.
- Experience in Object Oriented Programming.
- Experience with Agile methods, including testing methods for CI/CD, DevSecOps and DevOps.
- Experience with test methodologies within traditional Software Development Lifecycle approaches including Waterfall and V-Model.
- Understanding of cloud architectures and impacts to testing methods.
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, or Math from an ABET-accredited educational program plus 10 years of directly related experience.
