About the position

The Senior Software Configuration Management Engineer at Raytheon is responsible for ensuring the integrity of digital products throughout their lifecycle. This role involves managing software builds, supporting configuration control processes, and administering various configuration management tools. The engineer will work closely with the SWCM team to implement best practices in configuration management and facilitate change review boards, all while adhering to company policies and security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform software builds and provide support to the Program and Software Configuration Control Board.
  • Maintain and administer Software Digital Library tools.
  • Design, plan, enforce, and coordinate Configuration Management (CM) and tool processes and procedures.
  • Manage digital product development/media libraries and document guidelines for dependency management, build, and versioning.
  • Administer and manage access to SWCM tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps Server, Git, and BitBucket.
  • Facilitate the Digital Change Review Boards (DCRBs) and maintain familiarity with program schedules to identify risks.
  • Coordinate data transfers and courier support among various environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience in Software Configuration Management or related fields.
  • Experience with version control and change management/agile planning tools.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Unix/Linux Operating Systems.
  • Experience with SWCM tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps Server, Git, and Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of scripting programming languages (e.g., Perl, shell, batch, Python, Ruby, YAML).
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) methodologies.
  • Proven experience with configuration management concepts and implementation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with software industry best practices such as Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI).
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cross-discipline organizations.
