About the position

The Senior Solar Energy Engineer at CMTA will be part of the Energy Solutions division, focusing on designing, bidding, project managing, and commissioning solar PV systems for various clients. This role is essential in delivering Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs) that upgrade facilities in a budget-neutral manner. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has a strong technical background, and is passionate about helping clients achieve energy efficiency and sustainability goals.

Responsibilities

• Design solar PV systems for various clients.
• Bid on solar projects and manage project timelines.
• Commission solar PV systems and ensure compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with a team of engineers to deliver energy solutions.
• Provide ongoing energy management services post-installation.

Requirements

• 5-10+ years of experience in PV installations (small and large commercial).
• NABCEP PV Installation, Designer, Commissioning or Inspector Certification (preferred).
• Knowledge of AC & DC electrical wiring and monitoring systems.
• Thorough knowledge of the NEC electrical code, especially section 690.
• Experience with PV Interconnection documents and utility tariffs.
• Experience with modeling PV production using tools like SAM or Helioscope.
• Ability to understand structural drawings and industry terminology.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Revit/AutoCAD.
• Ability to develop and discuss single line diagrams for PV systems.
• Knowledge of grid-tied PV systems and components.
• Familiarity with project management and deadlines.
