About the position

The Core Financials Senior Solutions Architect at GEICO is a pivotal role that provides expertise and guidance to the Accounting and Financial Operations departments. This individual will work closely with Finance and Technology leaders to redesign and enhance the use of technologies in managing GEICO's business, focusing on Core Financials applications. The role involves delivering technology solutions that support various financial processes and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage deep functional and technical systems expertise to drive solutions for the Finance department.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Lead design sessions to ensure systems are efficient and meet business expectations.
  • Collaborate with Finance Leaders to meet organizational technology goals.
  • Support the technology roadmap for Core Financials functions by understanding multi-entity department functions.
  • Develop project roadmaps aligned with business objectives and resource availability.
  • Manage divergent expectations of customers and stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain a strong control and governance framework for SOX and Audit reviews.
  • Facilitate discussions at various leadership levels to ensure alignment with long-term goals.
  • Translate business and functional specifications into technical specifications.
  • Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.

Requirements

  • 20+ years of Finance Systems experience with industry-leading ERP solutions.
  • 10+ years of lead experience in guiding teams in support of Finance Systems.
  • 15+ years working with Core Financials systems (GL, AP, PO, FA, AR, Expenses).
  • Deep Finance domain expertise to interpret process and functional needs into system solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Accounting processes and reporting expectations.
  • Ability to communicate and work directly with business leaders across Technology and Finance.
  • Solid understanding of project management techniques and methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with the software development life cycle.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.
