About the position

The Cigna Individual & Family Plans (IFP) IT Team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Architecture Senior Advisor specializing in Data Analytics & Reporting. This role is pivotal in delivering value for the business through a deep understanding of business functions and the ability to quickly grasp existing systems and technology landscapes. The ideal candidate will possess the capability to influence stakeholders across various functions within the Government Business Segment, fostering innovation and driving the agile transformation of the organization. In this position, you will collaborate closely with business teams to identify opportunities and needs, define strategic architecture solutions, and oversee the delivery of tools, systems, interfaces, and reporting mechanisms. You will ensure that IT solutions align with defined business strategies and utilize your influence to ensure that execution meets long-term objectives, architecture runway, and market needs. Managing relationships among IT, Business, and Operations partners at all levels will be a key responsibility, as will engaging with business and enterprise architects to create a cohesive data strategy and vision. Your role will also involve operating within an economic framework to analyze the impact of design decisions, participating in planning and high-level design of solutions, and reviewing end-to-end designs provided by delivery teams. You will provide reference implementations for new solutions, patterns, and technology products, ensuring high-quality solutions that prioritize security, cost, performance, and operational efficiency. Participation in Solution Demos will be expected, where you will demonstrate the capabilities contributed by your Release Trains to the overall solution. Additionally, you will align technology approaches across Release Trains and foster communication and collaboration between Agile teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business and teams to identify opportunities and needs, define strategy and architecture solutions, and deliver tools, systems, interfaces, and reporting.
  • Ensure IT solutions align with defined business strategies and influence execution to meet long-term objectives and market needs.
  • Manage relationships among IT, Business, and Operations partners at all levels.
  • Engage with business and enterprise architects to create and communicate a data strategy and vision.
  • Analyze the impact of design decisions within an economic framework.
  • Participate in planning and high-level design of solutions and explore solution alternatives.
  • Review end-to-end designs by delivery teams and provide guidance with accountability.
  • Provide reference implementations for new solutions, patterns, and technology products.
  • Ensure high-quality solutions with best security measures, cost, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in Solution Demos, demonstrating capabilities contributed by Release Trains.
  • Align technology approaches across Release Trains.
  • Foster communication and collaboration between Agile teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required.
  • 15+ years of experience related to IT delivery and SDLC.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical/solution IT architecture and data management.
  • Experience in defining strategic roadmaps and managing competing needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong technical background with core competency in understanding and defining OLTP vs OLAP data sets.
  • Broad knowledge of current technology trends and design patterns.
  • Experience with relational, structured/unstructured, and semi-structured data, including designing data lakes, data governance, data lineage, and data quality.
  • Ability to design efficient data ingestion, processing, storage, security, and advanced analytics on cloud at large scale in real-time.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL.
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing, BI, and advanced analytics and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS big data analytics tools such as Redshift, Kinesis, Lambda, Glue catalog, Athena, Airflow, Databricks, Python, Kafka, Spark, and PySpark.
  • Understanding of Collibra DQ and Alation is a plus.
  • Ability to influence leaders and drive change across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum and Kanban.
