About the position

Enterprise Knowledge (EK) is seeking a Data Governance Consultant to join our Advanced Data & Enterprise AI Practice. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of innovative data discovery, integration, and management solutions for a diverse range of organizations globally. As a Data Governance Consultant, your primary focus will be on creating comprehensive data governance plans, developing and implementing effective solutions, and building top-tier analytic capabilities for our clients. You will take ownership of data management projects, manage client expectations, and ensure successful delivery in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on planning and implementing data management and governance strategies.
  • Facilitate discussions to understand client needs and provide consulting on data management and governance best practices.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on data management and governance concepts, including the development of enterprise data strategies and governance policies.
  • Inform clients on best practices for implementing data management strategies across various environments (on-prem, cloud, hybrid).
  • Collaborate with data researchers, analysts, and cross-functional teams to enhance metadata discovery, collection, cleansing, and refinement.
  • Operate in a cloud environment, assessing specifications and requirements for data management solutions.
  • Implement design patterns that optimize performance, cost, security, and user experience.
  • Work with data subject matter experts and business users to model their domain knowledge into data solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, economics, data science, computer science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in data management or data governance teams.
  • Proven experience in client interactions, including briefings, meetings, and presentations.
  • Experience with distributed data processing systems and proficiency in SQL.
  • Experience managing a full project pipeline, interfacing with stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Experience designing and working with relational databases.
  • Experience in designing and building scalable distributed systems.
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with data modeling, data silo integration, metadata, and database architecture projects.
  • Willingness to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with graph databases.
  • Experience with data catalogs, MDMs, or other data management tools.
  • Familiarity with software engineering principles, including testing, code reviews, and deployment.
