About the position

As a Sr Solution Consultant at AspenTech, you will partner with sales teams during the sales cycle to lead the consultative discovery process with customers. Your role will involve crafting a vision and roadmap of a solution that addresses customer requirements, identifying differentiated value capture potential, and designing an implementation/sustainment program for that solution. You will maintain a keen understanding of AspenTech's product strategy, value enablers, and the execution capabilities of our professional services team and partners. This position is customer-facing and requires self-motivated individuals with excellent business, industry, and technical knowledge, along with strong consultative and communication skills to position AspenTech solutions and services effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop industry- and application-specific solutions for the customer.
  • Lead value discovery customer sessions, assessing customer needs, and developing solutions.
  • Determine and understand prospective customers' critical business issues to present AspenTech's software capabilities as the best solution.
  • Build customer-specific solutions on the AspenTech platform using available tool options.
  • Develop robust recommendations, proposals, and scope of work documents for AspenTech Consulting engagements.
  • Consult with customers on relevant AspenTech solutions and services, establishing a credible value proposition.
  • Develop and execute sales campaigns and plans with the Sales teams.
  • Work with the Sales team to identify and qualify business opportunities and key customer technical challenges.
  • Proactively support pipeline development and sales execution in assigned accounts and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience within consulting, pre-sales, professional services consulting, or process industry verticals such as Energy, Petrochemicals, bulk or specialty chemicals.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing economics and ability to interact knowledgeably with potential customers about their plants and work processes.
  • Technology specialization in areas such as Process Engineering, Manufacturing Supply Chain - Planning and Scheduling, Advanced process control and optimization, Predictive Maintenance, and IT/OT real-time Digital infrastructure modernization.
  • Strong drive to solve customer problems and convert pipeline opportunities into closed deals.
  • Balance of business and technology acumen, including the ability to articulate high-level technical solutions to business problems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to create clear observations, analyses, and conclusions based on customer interviews and data.
  • Ability to travel approximately 40%, including domestic and international travel.
