About the position
The Senior Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services (AWS) will serve as a trusted technical advisor to Department of Defense and Intelligence Community customers, focusing on designing and architecting advanced cloud-based solutions. This role involves collaborating with both external stakeholders and internal AWS teams to address complex, mission-critical technical challenges. The position emphasizes thought leadership in cloud computing, customer education, and the successful migration of workloads to AWS, with a strong focus on building relationships and providing innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Department of Defense & Intelligence Community customers.
- Design and architect advanced cloud-based solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Collaborate with sales teams to formulate and execute sales strategies for AWS adoption.
- Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and participate in architectural discussions.
- Conduct training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or using AWS.
- Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solutions architect community.
- Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers.
- Build relationships with senior technical individuals within customer organizations.
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and AWS service engineering teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
- 8+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
- 10+ years of experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.
Nice-to-haves
- 5+ years of technology/software sales experience.
- 3-5 years of experience with Cyber Security relevant tactics, techniques, procedures, and solutions.
