About the position
The Senior Solutions Architect for Payments at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for driving the adoption of AWS services within the payments industry. This role involves collaborating with C-level executives and internal teams to develop strategies that facilitate the transition from legacy systems to cloud-based solutions. The architect will leverage their industry expertise to create scalable and compliant cloud architectures, ensuring that customer needs are met while influencing the development of AWS features and services.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the Worldwide Payments team to drive AWS marketing, sales, and technical strategies for the payments industry.
- Coach sales teams on AWS services relevant to payments customers.
- Understand the unique technical requirements of payments and banking customers, guiding the adoption of AWS services for complex customers.
- Work directly with customers to accelerate their business outcomes and recommend best-practice cloud architectures.
- Drive technical solutions discussions with customers, solving complex technical challenges and crafting scalable cloud architectures.
- Scope and own customer engagements with clear objectives and success criteria.
- Work backwards from customer business needs to accelerate adoption of appropriate AWS technology.
- Define and execute strategy by engaging technical teams and partners.
- Act as a thought leader, educating the community, presenting at events, and writing white papers.
- Share customer feedback to influence the AWS platform's roadmap.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, security, networking, or data & analytics.
- 3+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
- 5+ years of experience in IT development or consulting in the software or Internet industries.
Nice-to-haves
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking.
- Knowledge of SAP systems and their architecture and infrastructure needs.
- Experience working with end user or developer communities.
