About the position

The Senior Solutions Architect will leverage extensive experience in solution architecture to address complex technology challenges for clients, particularly within the Federal Student Aid organization. This role involves crafting architecture products, design specifications, and leading modernization efforts, including cloud migration and integration of advanced technologies. The architect will also mentor junior developers, ensuring the growth of future solutions architects while contributing to the mission of a critical federal financial agency.

Responsibilities

  • Translate customer IT needs and future goals into actionable plans by crafting architecture products and design specifications.
  • Lead the transformation of client technology usage, including cloud migration and modernization of legacy systems.
  • Mentor junior developers and architects to foster their growth into future solutions architects.
  • Develop and deliver tailored presentations to clients that illustrate solutions and drive project capture.
  • Partner with senior-level client stakeholders to provide technical thought leadership and innovative solutions.
  • Architect high-performance, high-availability systems focused on missions of national importance.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience with solution architecture.
  • Experience delivering software and solutions with the Federal Student Aid (FSA) organization within the Department of Education.
  • Experience with software development and modernization efforts, including cloud and automation platforms.
  • Experience integrating disparate technologies into cohesive technical solutions.
  • Ability to develop and deliver complex presentations to clients.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring junior architects.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience establishing frameworks for systems modernization using integrated DevSecOps toolchains.
  • Experience working in Agile environments with multiple product-centric teams.
  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform services.
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Cloud Architecture, Software Development, or DevSecOps Certifications.
