About the position

The Senior Solutions Consultant (Pre-Sales) for Procurement at Tipalti is a pivotal role that combines technical expertise with sales acumen. This position involves presenting and advocating for Tipalti's procurement solutions to potential customers, ensuring a smooth transition to the implementation team post-sale. The consultant will engage with C-Level executives and front-line representatives, driving customer discovery sessions and product demonstrations while collaborating with various teams to tailor solutions that meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead customer discovery sessions and product demonstrations, articulating Tipalti's procurement solutions to customers and potential customers.
  • Partner with Product to understand prospect/customer needs more deeply.
  • Maintain awareness of customer experiences, industry trends, and competitor intelligence.
  • Contribute to projects within Sales, collaborating with Marketing and Customer Success to create procurement-specific content.
  • Gather complex technical requirements and work with the Sales team to customize Tipalti products for customer challenges.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of processes and product domain.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or business, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with accounting systems and ERP applications (e.g., Netsuite, Sage, QuickBooks, Intacct, and Xero).
  • 3-5 years as a solution consultant, sales engineer, presales, or implementation.
  • Experience leading customer-facing discovery sessions, technical presentations, and solution demos.
  • Ability to empathize with customers and navigate their goals towards achieving value quickly.
  • Experience building long-lasting customer relationships and collaborating across diverse teams.
  • Compelling presentation skills with adaptability and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills to balance complex technical concepts with business values.
  • Willingness to travel across the US and Canada as needed.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Procurement Professional (CPP®) certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, ideally with previous solutions consulting or pre-sales experience.
  • Understanding of contracts, direct and indirect spending, and purchasing.
