About the position

AspenTech is seeking a Senior Solutions Consultant to join our team, focusing on our Digital Grid Management software suite, which includes OSI products designed for electric utility real-time grid control systems. This role is pivotal in showcasing our software solutions to potential clients, helping them understand how our products can address their specific business needs. As a Senior Solutions Consultant, you will be responsible for conducting software demonstrations, maintaining a demonstration system, and providing sales support to ensure that our software products are effectively communicated to prospects. In this customer-facing role, you will perform engaging demonstrations of our software products, tailoring each presentation to highlight key features and benefits that resonate with the unique challenges faced by each client. You will work closely with the sales and marketing teams, providing technical expertise and guidance during client interactions. Your ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences will be essential in conveying the value proposition of our solutions. Additionally, you will collaborate with internal teams, including product management and development, to stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies. Your insights and feedback from potential clients will contribute to the continuous improvement of our software products. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, a deep understanding of electric utility systems, and the ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of our software offerings and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct software demonstrations to potential clients, showcasing key features and benefits of our products.
  • Tailor demonstrations to address the specific needs and pain points of each prospect.
  • Maintain and enhance the software demonstration system, including upgrading software and building demonstration scenarios.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our software products and industry trends.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to align software demonstrations with client requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the sales team during client interactions.
  • Work with product management, development, and technical experts to gather feedback and improve software products.
  • Strengthen technical and industry knowledge to enhance demonstration skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in solution consulting, technical sales support, or software sales.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 50%.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn complex software applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electric utility control systems (SCADA, EMS, GMS, DMS, OMS, DERMS).
  • Proven experience in software demonstration or sales engineering.
  • Prior experience using OSI monarch software.
  • Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French, German, or Portuguese.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and NERC CIP standards.
  • Solid understanding of electric utility systems and grid control technologies.
  • Experience with database systems and data modeling.
  • Basic understanding of programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or batch scripts.
