Confluent Solutions Engineers drive the technical evaluation stage of the overall sales process, making them critical drivers of customer success as real-time data streams become more and more important in the modern enterprise. In this role, you will partner with account reps to be the technical advisor on the sales team, work closely with the product management and engineering teams, and serve as a vital product advocate in front of prospects, customers, and the wider Kafka and Data Streaming communities. You will serve as a trusted advisor to Confluent customers from executives to practitioners as they undertake technical design and develop their solution, maintain familiarity with the roadmap of Kafka and the surrounding ecosystem, and be able to sidestep roadblocks and inform them of upcoming fixes or workarounds. You'll also be responsible for clear articulation of Confluent's technical and product positioning to stakeholders, and for forging strong relationships with them throughout the sales cycle and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the technical evaluation stage of the sales process.
  • Partner with account representatives to provide technical advice.
  • Work closely with product management and engineering teams.
  • Serve as a product advocate in front of prospects and customers.
  • Design modern data architectures and define Mutual Action Plans for pilots.
  • Gather understanding of customer's data estate and identify new opportunities.
  • Present confidently to technical and business stakeholders, including C-level executives.
  • Serve as a conduit for product feedback from customers and champion new features.

Requirements

  • 5+ years sales engineering work experience in the LATAM market.
  • Ability to speak Spanish and English fluently; Portuguese is a plus.
  • Work experience with data integration or application architecture.
  • Strong technical knowledge with a CS degree or as a cloud architect/administrator.
  • Clear, consistent demonstration of self-starter behavior and a desire to learn new things.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience building solutions with Apache Kafka.
  • Confluent Certified Developer or Confluent Certified Administrator.
  • Knowledge of K8 operations and cloud-based distributed computing.
