The Senior Space Systems Agile Champion will be a pivotal member of the Agile Transformation Team, engaging with the United States Space Force (USSF) to identify, prioritize, and implement actions that facilitate the rapid incremental fielding of critical software-driven space capabilities. This role is designed for a technical leader who will bridge the gap between research and practical application, focusing on actionable areas that can enhance software engineering practices within the DoD. The position requires a deep understanding of engineering leadership, as the individual will coach senior DoD leaders and their teams, enabling them to enhance performance within the government-organic workforce. The successful candidate will be instrumental in adopting new tools and techniques in highly regulated environments, thereby contributing to the reduction of barriers to innovation across the Department of Defense. In this role, the Senior Space Systems Agile Champion will tackle complex socio-technical challenges while addressing the diverse needs of various stakeholders. The position demands exceptional skills in development and fielding satellite systems, as well as Ground Based Mission Operations Systems. The candidate will be expected to possess a comprehensive understanding of how differentiated capabilities such as Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I), Modeling and Simulation (M&S), Test and Evaluation (T&E), Cybersecurity, Software Development, and Digital Engineering/Acquisition can effectively solve the complex problems faced by the USSF. The role also involves a significant amount of travel, with expectations of 30-50% travel to various customer locations across the U.S.
