About the position

The Senior Specialist, Asset & Reliability Management CoE at Merck is responsible for overseeing Asset and Reliability Management activities to support various manufacturing operations. This role focuses on improving asset performance, driving maintenance excellence, and managing risk through the development and deployment of standard processes and tools. The position also involves leading digital initiatives and managing digital platforms related to maintenance and reliability, requiring strong interpersonal skills and a hands-on approach to collaboration across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Asset and Reliability Management activities for Vaccine, Sterile, Pharmaceutical, and External Manufacturing Operations.
  • Develop, sustain, and deploy standard processes, programs, tools, and metrics for asset performance.
  • Lead specific digital initiatives and manage digital platforms for maintenance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with internal and external leaders to improve asset management practices.
  • Manage hybrid teams and implement cross-functional processes.
  • Influence leadership, peers, customers, and vendors to foster a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Engineering required; MS Degree in Engineering desirable.
  • 5 years of maintenance management experience.
  • 5 years of engineering process and reliability experience.
  • 5 years of experience in sterile or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership and influence skills in cross-functional environments.
  • Solid understanding of cGMP and SDLC principles.
  • Experience with engineering, reliability, and maintenance processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Asset Management and/or Reliability (e.g., CRE/CMRP).
  • Project management expertise.
  • Clean room environment experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green belt.
