About the position

The Senior Specialist, Benefits & Compliance will focus on managing employee benefits, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining accurate HRIS data. This role involves cross-functional support in human resources, particularly in benefits administration and compliance reporting, while also providing analytical insights through workforce analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Complete employee transactions in Workday, including enrollments, beneficiaries, COBRA, and terminations.
  • Compile reports and conduct workforce analytics using Workday.
  • Assist in preparing and filing EEO-1 and other compliance reports.
  • Ensure labor law and compliance posters are displayed appropriately.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting employee benefits and ensure compliance actions are taken.
  • Ensure accuracy of benefits enrollments in Workday and provide vendors with eligibility information.
  • Prepare ongoing and ad-hoc reports related to employee information and data.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures, including maintaining the Employee Handbook.
  • Assist in the administration of Open Enrollment as needed.
  • Assist with hiring Fixed term workers using Workday and E-Verify.
  • Run regular audits to maintain accurate information in Workday.
  • Audit expenses related to benefit payouts.
  • Respond to 403(b) inquiries from managers and employees.
  • Manage annual catch-up contribution enrollment for 403(b).
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits and plan provisions.
  • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files and group benefits database.
  • Assist with processing bills for benefit premium payments and 403b transmissions.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and support Talent and Workforce Planning as needed.
  • Recommend new approaches and policies to improve HR efficiency and service delivery.

Requirements

  • At least four years of experience in human resources.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Workday or another HRIS system.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate statistical information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
