About the position

The Senior Specialist, Data Governance is responsible for executing data consistency, quality, and protection within the data governance framework. This role focuses on operational effectiveness, maximizing data value, and business process improvements, leading cross-functional efforts to ensure organizational data compliance and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and execution of data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Support the maintenance of data governance tools and technologies to ensure high-quality, consistent, and secure data.
• Collaborate with business units, IT, and data management teams to gather requirements and provide guidance on best practices.
• Implement, operate, and audit data policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent data management practices.
• Monitor and improve data quality through solutions that enhance visibility, reliability, security, and scalability.
• Create, review, and update data artifacts such as data dictionaries on a quarterly basis.
• Develop and maintain KPI-based data governance reporting.
• Facilitate Data Governance Committee meetings and deliver training on data governance best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in data management, information technology, business administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data governance and data management, executing standards and policies.
• Experience in cross-functional data governance projects.
• Strong understanding of data governance approaches and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to create and improve data policies and standards.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent development/management software.
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA or equivalent ERP software.
