Reporting to a Senior Manager - People Leader within the Third-party Compliance Assessments (3PCA) team, the ideal candidate will support accurate and timely Corporate Compliance, Privacy and TPRM (4th party) initial and ongoing vendor control environment assessments. The Sr. Specialist is also responsible for effective challenge issue identification, determining issue residual risk ratings and escalation of issues identified within a vendor control environment. This position is responsible for understanding the third-party lifecycle and risk exposures, executing 3PC processes in line with the Third-party Risk Management (TPRM) Standards. This position requires working with and leveraging other professional groups and partners such as Corporate Risk Management teams, Vendor Management, Contract Owners, Business Unit Compliance, Corporate Legal Services, among others. You may also be tasked with project related work. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Support accurate and timely Corporate Compliance, Privacy and TPRM vendor control environment assessments.
  • Identify effective challenge issues and determine issue residual risk ratings.
  • Understand the third-party lifecycle and risk exposures.
  • Execute vendor control assessment processes in line with applicable procedures and standards.
  • Assess third party control environments through various documents and methods.
  • Determine the quality of a vendor control environment and its capacity to manage risks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide consultation support regarding third party risk identification to business owners and stakeholders.
  • Participate in projects within the Operational Risk Management space.
  • Practice continuous self-improvement through learning opportunities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience supporting risk management activities in financial services, Military experience may be considered in lieu of this requirement.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships and collaborate effectively.
  • Proven analytical and research skills.
  • Proven ability to identify and solve complex issues in a team environment.
  • Experience being part of or leading projects within the financial services and/or risk management spaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build credibility with peers and key stakeholders.
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills.
  • A 2-year college degree is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Tableau experience is a plus.
  • The desired areas of study are Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or Business Management; 4-year college degree preferred.
