About the position

The position involves managing training materials and processes for new hires in United Airlines' Inflight Services team. The role focuses on creating, updating, and organizing resources to support effective onboarding, ensuring that training milestones are met, and providing performance monitoring and development for new hires. The goal is to prepare employees for on-the-job training and ensure consistent skill development across teams, contributing to the airline's mission of delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Management of Training Materials for new hire training, including creating, updating, and organizing resources.
  • Coordinating with the Global Learning design team to ensure training milestones are met and materials align with broader learning strategies.
  • Performance Monitoring and Development of new hires in classroom training through observations, evaluations, and feedback.
  • Providing coaching and support to address skill gaps and ensure readiness for transitioning to on-the-job training.
  • Creating key performance indicators to measure training success and developing strategic plans for future training needs.
  • Ensuring the organization is prepared for evolving demands and maintains consistent skill development across all teams.
  • Collaborating with instructors to identify new hire training continuity plans and develop strategies to address training gaps.
  • Planning for alternative training approaches, resources, and support to keep new hires on track during schedule changes or learning obstacles.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders for underperforming employees to address performance issues and develop targeted action plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience in Business/Administration, Education, Communications, or Human Resource.
  • 1-2 years of scheduling operations experience.
  • 1-2 years of crew scheduling experience or aviation management.
  • 1+ years of project management experience.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of crew scheduling.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree.
  • 2+ years of experience with training and development.
  • 2+ years in a people leader role.
  • Training design experience.
  • Familiarity with relevant labor regulations and compliance.
