About the position

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Specialist, Integration/Test Engineer to join our Space Superiority group in Colorado Springs, CO. This role is pivotal in supporting the test efforts for the development of multiple ground-based mission systems and operations centers, from program inception through to test verification and deployment. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment characterized by high expectations and diverse assignments, collaborating with a team of qualified and diverse individuals. The position requires a professional with a strong knowledge of the job area, who can implement strategic goals established by project leadership and communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and vendors. As a System Integration and Test Engineer, you will be responsible for the assembly, integration, and testing of System Under Test (SUT) software and hardware components. This includes executing all levels of testing, such as Integration, System, and Acceptance testing, while configuring and maintaining production-like test environments. You will oversee subcontractors and provide I&T support, ensuring thorough testing and troubleshooting of issues. Your role will also involve documenting issues into a bug tracking tool, developing test plans, test cases, and testing scripts for both manual and automated testing, and maintaining comprehensive testing records. The ideal candidate will have experience in Agile and DevOps methodologies, be proficient in tools like JIRA and Confluence, and advocate for test priorities during daily scrum meetings and sprint planning. You will collaborate closely with the software development team, analyze user stories, use cases, and requirements for validity and feasibility, and lead test development and peer review activities with minimal supervision. This position requires the ability to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

  • Support the test effort for development of multiple ground-based mission systems and operations centers from program inception to test verification and deployment.
  • Define complex test strategies to verify mission capabilities.
  • Act as a point-of-contact for the government customer for test planning.
  • Coordinate across government and stakeholder offices to define the test and evaluation plan.
  • Implement strategic goals established by project leadership.
  • Execute all levels of testing (Integration, System, and Acceptance).
  • Configure and maintain production-like test environments.
  • Oversee subcontractors for I&T support.
  • Test and troubleshoot issues, documenting them into a bug tracking tool.
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and testing scripts for manual and automated testing.
  • Maintain testing records and document/report discovered problems.
  • Advocate for test priorities in daily scrum meetings and sprint planning.
  • Collaborate closely with the software development team.
  • Analyze user stories/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility.
  • Lead test development and peer review activities with little supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to attain a Top Secret/SCI clearance upon hire.
  • Strong knowledge of job area and professional experience in system integration and testing.
  • Experience in Agile & DevOps methodology and culture.
  • Proficient at JIRA/Confluence (or equivalent).
  • Strong communication skills with internal teams, customers, and vendors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) utilizing MagicDraw.
  • Experience with software test automation tools (EggPlant highly preferred).
  • Familiarity with all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
