About the position

L3Harris is seeking a Senior Specialist, Integration/Test Engineer to join our Space Superiority group in Colorado Springs, CO. This role is pivotal in supporting the test efforts for the development of multiple ground-based mission systems and operations centers, from program inception through to test verification and deployment. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment characterized by high expectations and diverse assignments, collaborating with a team of qualified individuals across various internal organizations and subcontractors. As a Senior Integration/Test Engineer, you will be responsible for defining complex test strategies to verify mission capabilities. You will serve as the primary point of contact for government customers regarding test planning, coordinating with government and stakeholder offices to establish comprehensive test and evaluation plans. Your role will involve the assembly, integration, and testing of System Under Test (SUT) software and hardware components, executing all levels of testing including Integration, System, and Acceptance. In addition to executing tests, you will configure and maintain production-like test environments, oversee subcontractor activities, and troubleshoot issues that arise during testing. You will document issues using a bug tracking tool, develop test plans, test cases, and testing scripts for both manual and automated testing, and maintain thorough testing records. Your experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies will be crucial as you advocate for test priorities in daily scrum meetings and sprint planning sessions. You will also analyze user stories, use cases, and requirements for validity and feasibility, ensuring clear and concise documentation of software issues. This position requires strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, customers, and vendors, and the ability to lead test development and peer review activities with minimal supervision. You will participate in project planning and execution meetings and may be required to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

  • Define complex test strategies to verify mission capabilities.
  • Serve as the point-of-contact for government customers for test planning.
  • Coordinate across government and stakeholder offices to define the test and evaluation plan.
  • Execute all levels of testing (Integration, System, and Acceptance).
  • Configure and maintain production-like test environments.
  • Oversee subcontractors in the integration and testing process.
  • Test and troubleshoot issues that arise during testing.
  • Document issues into a bug tracking tool.
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and testing scripts for manual and automated testing.
  • Maintain testing records and document/report discovered problems.
  • Advocate for test priorities in daily scrum meetings and sprint planning.
  • Collaborate closely with the software development team.
  • Analyze user stories/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility.
  • Lead test development and peer review activities with little supervision.
  • Attend and participate in project planning and execution meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to attain a Top Secret/SCI clearance upon hire.
  • Strong knowledge of system integration and testing processes.
  • Experience in Agile & DevOps methodology and culture.
  • Proficient at JIRA/Confluence (or equivalent).
  • Strong communication skills with internal teams, customers, and vendors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) utilizing MagicDraw.
  • Experience with software test automation tools (EggPlant highly preferred).
  • Familiarity with all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
