About the position

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Specialist, Integration/Test Engineer to join our Space Superiority group in Colorado Springs, CO. This position is critical in supporting the test effort for the development of multiple ground-based mission systems and operations centers, from program inception to test verification and deployment. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations and diverse assignments, collaborating with a team of qualified and diverse individuals. The role requires defining complex test strategies to verify mission capabilities while coordinating with multiple internal organizations and subcontractors for the full integration and testing of the mission system. As a Senior Integration/Test Engineer, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the government customer regarding test planning, coordinating across government and stakeholder offices to define the test and evaluation plan. You will be responsible for the assembly, integration, and testing of System Under Test (SUT) software and hardware components, executing all levels of testing including Integration, System, and Acceptance. Additionally, you will configure and maintain production-like test environments, oversee subcontractors, and document issues into a bug tracking tool. The position also involves developing test plans, test cases, and testing scripts for both manual and automated testing, maintaining testing records, and reporting discovered problems. You will advocate for test priorities in daily scrum meetings and sprint planning, ensuring clear and concise documentation of software issues. The role requires collaboration with the software development team and analysis of user stories, use cases, and requirements for validity and feasibility. You will lead test development and peer review activities with minimal supervision, ensuring complete and accurate test coverage, and create a test to requirement traceability matrix. Responsibilities

  • Support the test effort for development of multiple ground-based mission systems and operations centers from program inception to test verification and deployment.
  • Define complex test strategies to verify mission capabilities.
  • Coordinate with multiple internal organizations and subcontractors for the full integration and test of the mission system.
  • Serve as the point-of-contact for the government customer for test planning.
  • Configure and maintain production-like test environments.
  • Execute all levels of testing (Integration, System, and Acceptance).
  • Document issues into a bug tracking tool.
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and testing scripts for manual and automated testing.
  • Maintain testing records and document/report discovered problems.
  • Advocate for test priorities in daily scrum meetings and sprint planning.
  • Collaborate closely with the software development team.
  • Analyze user stories/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility.
  • Lead test development and peer review activities with little supervision.
  • Attend and participate in project planning and execution meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Top Secret clearance.
  • Strong knowledge of job area and professional experience in system integration and testing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) utilizing MagicDraw.
  • Experience with software test automation tools (EggPlant highly preferred).
  • Familiarity with all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Experience with Agile & DevOps methodology and culture.
  • Proficient experience with JIRA, Confluence, and/or equivalent applications.
