The Senior Specialist, Operations Maintenance Coordination role at Southwire Company, LLC is pivotal in ensuring the reliability of equipment through effective maintenance coordination. This position is responsible for overseeing various maintenance processes, including planning, scheduling, and executing both preventive and reactive maintenance activities. The Senior Specialist will act as a gatekeeper for maintenance requests, determining the approval and timing of work execution while ensuring that all maintenance activities are conducted safely and effectively. This role requires strong communication skills to facilitate collaboration between maintenance, production, engineering, and contract resources, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed. In addition to managing the maintenance processes, the Senior Specialist will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of maintenance work requests. This includes tracking performance metrics to ensure that maintenance resources meet or exceed the expectations of requestors. The role involves significant budget management, where the Senior Specialist will share ownership of the maintenance budget and work closely with production leadership to align maintenance resources with production needs. The position also requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, particularly in addressing chronic equipment issues and ensuring compliance with preventive maintenance schedules. Overall, the Senior Specialist will play a crucial role in driving operational excellence within the maintenance department, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of Southwire's manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring safety of maintenance work execution in the facility
  • Managing problem-solving requirements on consequential and/or chronic equipment issues
  • Ensuring planner feedback for significant deviation in work execution and duration
  • Driving PM compliance through prioritization during scheduling activities
  • Reviewing notifications to ensure accurate input and prioritization of information
  • Serving as the gatekeeper for routine work approval/disapproval
  • Building the weekly schedule based on available capacity of resources
  • Managing 'break-in' work impacts to weekly schedule, adjusting to meet production needs
  • Leading maintenance budget development and management
  • Tracking transactional process performance including data accuracy and ability to meet customer expectations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 9+ years of experience
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
