About the position

The Senior Specialist, Procurement is responsible for procuring critical components and services to support various organizational and manufacturing needs. This role involves managing subcontracts, serving as a liaison to internal customers, and ensuring compliance with delivery schedules and contract terms. The position requires a strong focus on detail and active participation in improvement initiatives within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Procure critical path components and services to support organizational and manufacturing needs.
  • Manage subcontracts for assigned suppliers and commodities.
  • Act as a liaison and focal point of contact for internal customers including Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Program.
  • Create and issue various types of contracts such as FFP and T&M.
  • Lead the supplier selection process and perform cost/price analysis, fact finding, and formal negotiations.
  • Ensure compliance with delivery schedules and follow up with suppliers to adhere to delivery dates.
  • Review and negotiate modifications to terms and conditions and agreements such as End User License Agreements.
  • Understand component specifications and requirements.
  • Maintain documentation control in compliance with FAR regulations and company policies.
  • Perform audits of PO files and documentation of buyer peers.
  • Participate actively in company and departmental improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in purchasing within an MRP (ERP) driven manufacturing environment.
  • Proven professional history and experience involving procurement negotiations.
  • Contract experience, including knowledge of terms and conditions and other procurement agreement related experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of engineering documentation and product configuration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a government/FAR buying environment is preferred but not necessary.
