About the position

As a Senior Specialist in Product Ownership, you will play a pivotal role in managing the Business Planning Optimization (BPO) tool, which is Purina's trade promotion optimization application. This position requires you to be the primary point of contact for all activity owners and support groups, ensuring that the product roadmap and backlog are effectively established and managed. Your responsibilities will include prioritizing enhancement requests based on end-user feedback, coordinating efforts across internal teams to diagnose and resolve process and application issues, and serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the BPO tool. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to develop a comprehensive product roadmap for BPO. You will analyze feedback from end users to provide insights for dashboard development and application enhancements. Identifying and analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems will be crucial to improving existing processes. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining documentation that serves as a training tool, helping to prevent future issues. Your role will involve testing data models to ensure that outputs produce the required business results, responding to user inquiries, analyzing data, and troubleshooting to resolve issues while identifying root causes. You will guide end users through problem resolution and recommend corrective and preventative actions, working closely with both internal teams and external vendors as necessary. Timely and clear communication regarding known problems, solutions, bug fixes, outages, and new releases will be part of your accountability. Additionally, you will manage user access, password management, and application availability for end users, as well as conduct yearly cloud assessments and compliance checks.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with and lead stakeholders to develop BPO product roadmap
  • Analyze feedback from end users to provide high level insights for dashboard development and application enhancements
  • Identify and analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve existing processes
  • Develop and maintain proper documentation to serve as a training tool including preventing future issues
  • Develop, share, and incorporate organizational best practices into business application and process
  • Test data models to ensure outputs produce required business result
  • Respond to users and team member questions, analyze data, research, and troubleshoot to resolve issues and identify root cause
  • Guide end users through the resolution of problems and recommend corrective and preventative actions
  • Work with internal teams, as well as external vendor, as required
  • Escalate identified issues timely and appropriately
  • Accountable for timely and clear impact communications to end users, business stakeholders including management: Known problems and solutions / bug fix / work arounds, outages, new releases and features
  • User access and password management and application availability for end users
  • Conduct yearly Cloud Assessment / Compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • 5+ years of combined experience within both Business and IT functions
  • 3+ years' experience working as a Business Analyst or support role working with internal and external stakeholders
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office applications and features (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Power BI, and Teams)
