About the position

The Senior Specialist in Supply Chain Commercial Operations is a critical role responsible for managing a portfolio of contracts throughout their entire lifecycle, from sourcing and contracting to implementation and ongoing management. This position aims to enhance the SCM team's processes and systems while engaging with business partners and suppliers to ensure effective contract management and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Support the sourcing and contracting of a portfolio of contracts.
  • Implement contracts for use by the business and purchasing teams.
  • Maintain SCM Sourcing and Contract Management systems and procedures.
  • Leverage Cheniere's scale to coordinate business needs with suppliers.
  • Act as the single point of accountability for SCM Sourcing and Contracting processes and systems.
  • Support Contract Owners in gathering performance feedback for effective contractor management.
  • Provide input to Category Managers for the development of comprehensive Category Strategies.
  • Perform pre-qualification and qualification of new suppliers.
  • Ensure all sourcing and contracting is compliant, timely, and delivered with quality.
  • Build and design requests for proposal considering total cost models.
  • Negotiate contracts with qualified suppliers to secure quality services and materials.
  • Prepare bid evaluation and supplier award documentation for approvals.
  • Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute various contract commercial structures.
  • Ensure timely delivery of quality contracts to support operations.
  • Maintain contractual records and documentation in appropriate systems.
  • Support the Delivery Purchasing team in creating Contract Purchase Agreements and Blanket Purchase Agreements.
  • Develop expertise in GEP sourcing and contracting solutions and lead as the team's Power User.
  • Integrate data from various sources for in-depth analytics on procurement processes.
  • Work with SCM COE to define areas for improvement within category management practices.
  • Lead change management efforts to implement new ways of working.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to track and evaluate contract and category management performance metrics.
  • Create visual representations of data findings for decision-making and communication.
  • Document best practices and lessons learned for knowledge sharing within the Commercial team.
  • Maintain contract process and procedure documentation.
  • Conduct new-hire onboarding trainings for GEP.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the GEP contracting solution.
  • Participate in the Contract Template Governance process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a relevant technical discipline.
  • Five or more years of relevant, progressive SCM experience required.
  • General business and manufacturing plant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of category management strategies and purchasing.
  • Hands-on experience with sourcing and negotiation of contracts.
  • Experience with source-to-contract and purchase-to-pay systems, preferably Oracle and GEP.

  • Familiarity with contract administration and compliance processes.
