About the position

The Senior Specialist in Technical Operations Projects at United Airlines is responsible for leading and overseeing moderate to large-scale projects within the Technical Operations division. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with various teams to ensure the effective management of project timelines, deliverables, and objectives, ultimately contributing to the maintenance and operational efficiency of the airline's fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage large-scale, strategic, cross-functional projects.
  • Manage initiative timelines to meet milestones, project requirements, deliverables, goals, and objectives.
  • Develop and track project management processes, including planning, risk management, project control, and change management.
  • Monitor performance data, track KPIs and metrics, and identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop project communications and report on project statuses and updates to team leadership, sponsors, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in Project Management or Change Management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects, including planning and executing change management processes.
  • Strong data analysis skills, with proficiency in Access, Excel, and similar tools.
  • Expertise in visual analytics tools (e.g., DOMO, Tableau, Spotfire).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in diverse teams, demonstrating diplomacy and relationship-building.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP, PROSCI, or other Change Management certification.
  • Knowledge of aircraft manuals and documentation.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
