About the position

The Senior Specialty Representative at Amgen is a vital role responsible for connecting with medical professionals to provide clinical knowledge of Amgen's products and navigate the complex payer environment. This position focuses on implementing marketing strategies, promoting products, and achieving sales targets through effective communication and relationship-building with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen's products and effectively communicate the clinical benefits to medical professionals.
  • Perform as a sales leader to achieve territory sales by delivering branded sales messages and conducting planned programs.
  • Develop relationships to service and manage accounts, customizing discussions based on customer needs and ensuring product access.
  • Provide feedback on marketing strategy and analyze the business effectiveness of sales activities.
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and seek to learn and grow as a Senior Specialty Representative.
  • Demonstrate passion for Amgen products and sustain that passion through the entire sales cycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of sales experience OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience OR High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience.
  • Sales, marketing and/or clinical experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, healthcare insurance, pharmacy services, healthcare medical device or medical supply industries.
  • 3 years+ experience preferred for Senior Specialty Representative.
  • Advanced influencing and relationship-building skills with a focus on sales outcomes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, cardiology, inflammation, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, bone health, respiratory, hematology, or infectious diseases.
  • Local Market knowledge.
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
