About the position

The AHEAD Senior Specialty Solutions Engineer will focus on Network and Network Security solutions for AHEAD's prospects and customers, encompassing a wide range of technologies. As a member of the Specialty Solutions Engineering team, you will be recognized as an organizational thought leader in this marketplace. Your role will involve collaborating with multiple sales representatives to develop cohesive account strategies for both existing and prospective clients. This includes identifying potential technologies and vendors to partner with and driving these strategies throughout various campaigns. Time management and prioritization are essential attributes for success in this role. Your objective is to evolve into the technical thought leader for each of your clients, which entails defining strategies, comparing and contrasting alternative approaches, and building key relationships. You will also be responsible for sizing and configuring products, leveraging subject matter experts and inside consultants to enhance your effectiveness within accounts. AHEAD is seeking candidates who identify as “Next Generation Network / Datacenter Architects.” A fundamental requirement for this position is a strong understanding and mastery of Cisco Route/Switch and/or DataCenter technologies. Beyond this core requirement, we aim to attract individuals who are eager to focus on traditional on-premise Cisco solutions while also demonstrating a willingness to learn new technologies, including various SDN solutions, network security, load balancing, edge/acceleration, and cloud technologies. Familiarity with cloud computing's impact on solutions is crucial, and experience or a desire to learn about network and system/access design with Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, or other cloud services is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Participate, lead, and coordinate the AHEAD virtual team for Network Infrastructure.
  • Work with the AHEAD partner management team and selected vendors to maintain technical and sales relationships.
  • Design, architect, and consult for AHEAD clients as a thought leader within the Engineering organization.
  • Build skills, relationships, and industry credibility to drive product, services, and consulting sales.
  • Support sales teams during engagements by providing optimized advice and solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop relationships with account managers, partners, and customers to support sales objectives.
  • Strategize and execute technical sales calls.
  • Complete required pre-sales documentation quickly and accurately.
  • Qualify sales opportunities based on customer technical requirements and decision-making processes.
  • Present and market the design and value of proposed AHEAD solutions to customers and management.
  • Participate in mentoring entry-level team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Cisco certifications are required (e.g., CCIE, CCNP).
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus 9K, ACI, 7K, 5K, 2K, 1K.
  • Knowledge of IP Routing Protocols and Layer 2 protocols and technologies.
  • Experience with Cisco Core Datacenter Technologies and ACI.
  • Familiarity with Network Management, MPLS, DMVPN, and Multicast.
  • Understanding of Firewalls, VPN, IPSec/L2TP, and Network Security.
  • Experience in Pre Sales and Data Center environments.
  • Strong professional communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under critical conditions and influence others to achieve results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent presentation capabilities.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well within a team and partner environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with VMware/VMware NSX.
  • Familiarity with Palo Alto, Arista, and Fortinet technologies.
  • Automation skillset.
  • Knowledge of F5/NetScaler and cloud connectivity fundamentals.
