About the position

The Splunk Architect position at Bank of America is responsible for leading complex technical designs that align with business strategies while adhering to architectural governance and standards. This role involves developing templates, playbooks, and automation for implementation, with a focus on improving reliability and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be part of the Operational Intelligence team, contributing to the Splunk platform's performance and sustainability as a hands-on engineer/architect.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a consultant on a broad range of technologies and platforms to drive targeted business outcomes.
  • Develop software solutions to address manual and repeatable work or inefficient processes.
  • Translate business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks for deployment.
  • Participate in various steering committees for technical and infrastructure service domains.
  • Lead the evaluation of reference models, blueprints, and playbooks to ensure they are fit for purpose.
  • Mentor and guide team members to ensure system design technology solutions comply with enterprise standards.
  • Create an inclusive and healthy working environment and help resolve organizational impediments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years expert-level Splunk Architect experience.
  • Well-versed with search head and indexer clustering topology.
  • Hands-on shell scripting and Linux/Windows system administration experience.
  • Some expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, and/or Windows scripts.
  • Thorough knowledge of regular expressions.
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills and tenaciousness to drive collaboration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with deployment tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, BladeLogic, and/or AutoSys.
  • Experience working in a secure, multi-data center environment.
  • Experience with other monitoring tools.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or any quantitative discipline.
